Spicy Turkey Jerky

These recipes all called for thinly sliced turkey or chicken. About 1/8 of an inch is probably good. You can experiment with different thicknesses. You can cut them into 1/8 x 1/8-inch sticks or 1/8 x 1-inch strips. Most importantly, the strips should be uniform in size for even drying.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound turkey breast, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, mix Sriracha sauce, lime juice, olive oil, honey, ground cumin, smoked paprika, and salt.
  2. Place the thinly sliced turkey in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat your dehydrator or oven to the appropriate temperature for jerky.
  4. Remove the turkey from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels.
  5. Arrange the turkey slices on the dehydrator trays or oven racks.
  6. Dry the turkey until it reaches your desired jerky consistency.
